Northwest SARCon is a search-and-rescue conference for emergency responders and their supervisors. Attendees include sheriff’s deputies, SAR team members and volunteers, police officers, firefighters and military and medical personnel. Participants receive hands-on training and participate in discussions on topics related to every aspect of search-and-rescue missions.

These classes are predominantly hands-on field work and very little time will be spent indoors. The woods will be your university. Our TTT courses are designed for the working dog handler and are taught by some of the finest veteran instructors on this continent.
Location: Training will occur in and around Welches, Orgeon near Mt. hood. The Resort in Welches, OR will be the base of operations.
SARCon '10 is already filling up. Please request a registration form ASAP to reserve your spot.
Class size is limited to 20 K9 teams and 4 observers for Trailing and Air Scent classes. HRD is limited to 16 K9 handlers. All field courses will be ran in moderate to difficult terrain sometimes involving several miles or more on foot. All TTT courses are run almost exclusively in the field. It is our philosophy to learn by doing and there is no better classroom than the field. Students can expect to work in all conditions and from 8-10 hours per training day.
Required trailing equipment: Long lead of 10-30', flat collar, trailing/ tracking harness, 2- pair of boots, change of clothes in the field, suitable clothing for field work ALL DAY, rain gear if necessary- rain is a training aid, portable water container such as a camel pack, box of freezer type Ziploc bags, box of 4X4" sterile gauze pads., At least 30 surveyors flags with your initials on each flag with indelible ink in large letters, and any food you and your K9 partner might require.

This course is open to law enforcement and search & rescue handlers. Due to the apprehension nature of most of the LE K9's in attendance, TTT Fall ’09 will be separated into LE and SAR groups for safety.
