CHRISTOPH ROSENBERGER

Trainer / Austria

Christoph Rosenberger was born in 1965 in Vienna Austria and moved to California at the age of 19. After graduating with a Bachelor from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles in 1989, he lived and worked as a professional photographer in Los Angeles and New York City. After moving back to Austria he began working with search dogs in 1998. His first SAR dog, a french Briard, was an area and disaster search dog and besides taking part in more than a hundred missing people cases in Austria, they were part of search missions to Africa. They were deployed by the Austrian government to Algeria after the earthquakes in 2003, where they found and rescued a girl, and to Morocco in 2004.
Since 2008 he trained his second SAR dog – a Briard again – as a trailer and started as a GAK9 student in 2013. The same year he left to search and rescue and started his own business. Christoph runs his business ‘dogs@work -GAK9 Training Center Austria’ (rettungshunde.at) in Vienna Austria and is the founder and president of the nonprofit SAR organisation‘ K9 Such & Rettungshunde Team Austria’.
